ISP GAMES BASKETBALL INFORMATION

Game Rules

3x3 Basketball matches will be conducted in accordance with official basketball rules and ISP Games regulations. The following rules and competition format will apply throughout the tournament:

  • Matches will be played with 3 players on court at any one time.

  • Teams may have substitute players available for rolling substitutions.

  • Matches will consist of 1 period of 8 minutes with no half time.

  • A rolling clock system will be used. The clock will not stop during normal play.

  • The referee may stop the clock only in exceptional circumstances or at their discretion.

  • Baskets scored inside the 3-point line will count as 1 point.

  • Baskets scored from outside the 3-point line will count as 2 points.

  • The team with the highest score at the end of 8 minutes will be declared the winner.

  • If scores are tied at full time, a sudden death period will be played, with the first team to score winning the match.

  • Rolling substitutions may be made at any stoppage of play and must take place quickly and safely through the designated substitution area.

  • Play will begin with a coin toss or possession decision by the referee.

  • After each successful basket, possession will transfer to the opposing team.

  • All change of possession situations must be cleared beyond the 3-point line before an attacking team may attempt to score.

  • A ball must be passed or dribbled outside the 3-point line following rebounds, steals, or turnovers before a score can count.

  • Standard fouls and violations, including travelling, double dribble, charging, and unsportsmanlike conduct, will be enforced by the referee.

  • Excessive physical contact, dangerous play, or abusive behaviour may result in warnings, fouls, or player removal.

  • Players must be ready to play at the scheduled match time. Failure to attend may result in a walkover.

  • Appropriate sports attire and non-marking athletic footwear must be worn at all times.

  • The decision of the referee or tournament organiser will be final in all matters relating to play and competition rules.

  • 1-6 foul 1 free throw IF GOT ACT OF SHOOTING, 7-9 foul (Team foul) 2 free throw, 10 onwards 2 free throw + possessions

  • Tournament organisers reserve the right to amend formats, schedules, or match durations where necessary due to time, weather, or operational requirements.
